Skye Lodge Dunvegan - Spring 2026 update
Dunvegan Castle, Dunvegan Cafes and Restaurants are fully open this Easter Weekend for your comfort and enjoyment. The one thing I personally enjoy about working and living here in the area is my ever changing picture window looking out over Loch Dunvegan. It is everchanging as the changing light affect our landscape, clouds, skies, and depth of colour of our sea of Loch Dunvegan itself.
The same stands for many locations such as:
Waternish peninsula,
Walks along the coastal water to Coral Bay waters
Dunvegan Castle Viewpoints of Loch Dunvegan
The views care of The 2 Churches Walk - it is ease and a must do
Skye Art North Trail providing a map and listing of 26 artisans: Galleries, Crafters, Weavers, Potters and so much more. Go to art-skye.co.uk
We hope you have a fabulous visit to the Isle of Skye this spring.
We provide hospitality first along side very comfortable luxury accommodation. We still have a few dates available for this April 2026 in Dunvegan Isle of Skye with us at Skye Lodge. Dunvegan Village is a quieter location than Portree. Key is location. Dunvegan is so well located for touring every peninsula of Skye.
The season at Skye Lodge had commenced.
Bask in the tranquil beauty of Skye and indulge in a rejuvenating getaway. Book an ‘escape to Skye’ :-)
With long days, the sun almost never sets here on the Isle of Skye giving you plenty of time for exploring during daylight hours. https://www.skyelodge.co.uk
Our Village:
Dunvegan Village (Dun Bheagain - Scots Gaelic) does not disappoint. We are a quiet yet thriving community and definitely worthy of consideration due to the number of local restaurants, accommodation providers, local walks and our landmarks which are quite wonderful. Take time to consider Dunvegan as your destination
It is all about location, location, location.. To route to and from Dunvegan provides an abundance of opportunities.
Your first landmark on arrival into Dunvegan are the two prominent flat-topped mountains, Healabhal Beag (1601 ft) and Healabhal Mor (1538 ft) that sit next to the peaks of the Black Cuillins on the eastern edge of the Glendale Estate. Walking enthusiasts reach Healabhal Beag summit in 2.5 hours from Orbost for exciting views.
A day trip to Glendale is highly recommended. At the Post Office, you can find a herd of Alpacas. Stop by to browse and shop for high-quality gifts made by ‘Skye Weavers’ based in Glendale and pop back to Dunvegan where the Hebridean Alpaca shop is located. We adore our two Alpaca blankets and take pride in supporting local arts and crafts.
Dunvegan is the hometown of Celtic Fusion Band ‘ Peatbog Faeries’ the birthplace of trial cyclist Danny MacAskill known for his truly awesome stunts and videos that entertain. ‘The Ridge’ is worth watching. Locally our landmark Castle - The Dunvegan Castle, the seat (home) of the chief of Clan Macleod stands proud and sets the scene for our local calendar.
With so much to see and we created a blog to share all of this with you.
